Get acquainted with your fellow nature enthusiasts over a delightful welcome dinner hosted by our knowledgeable guide, Aengus Kennedy.
8:30pm: Bat Talk and Walk
Join us at 8:30pm for an illuminating talk on bats, both locally and internationally. Following the presentation, embark on a captivating nighttime walk around Dunfanaghy with bat monitors, listening for the distinctive sounds of these fascinating creatures as they emerge for the night. Don't forget your torch and dress warmly for this nocturnal adventure. Duration: Approximately 2 hours.
SATURDAY:
4:30am: Dawn Chorus
Rise and shine for a magical dawn chorus experience. Meet at 4:30am and set out on a tranquil walk to the dunes, where you'll immerse yourself in the melodic symphony of waking birds. Learn to identify different bird species by their songs and discover the secrets of their morning rituals. Be sure to wear sturdy walking shoes and dress for the weather. Duration: 2-2.5 hours.
8:00am: Breakfast
Fuel up for the day ahead with a hearty breakfast to energize you for the adventures ahead.
After Breakfast: Join Aengus in the Glenveagh Room for a garden bird talk
For those still feeling eager to learn, join us for a fascinating talk on garden birds through the seasons. Gain insights into the diverse avian life that graces our gardens year-round. Duration: Approximately 1 hour.
Afternoon: Step into History Tour
Explore the rich heritage of Dunfanaghy with our Heritage Officer as your guide. Take a leisurely stroll through the charming village, delving into its captivating stories and history.
