Horn Head lies just across the bay and has many beautiful walks and wildlife attractions and is home to a variety of seabirds that can be spotted off the cliffs.

The Riding Stables conveniently located in the grounds of the hotel have been in the Arnold Family for over 30 years and managed by John and Helen McDaid along with their daughter Niamh. John is a Master Farrier from Moville County Donegal and the third generation of a well-established family of farriers. John spent his childhoood acquiring the skills and techniques of the trade alongside his father who in those days was one of the leading farriers in Moville. Helen is from County Wicklow and comes from a long established equestrian family. Her Father was a horse breeder and Helen acquired many of her skills working with her Father before going on to gain her qualifications as an approved instructor with the British Horse Society and the Association of Irish Riding Establishments. Helen also has a qualification in stud management from the Irish National Stud management where she studied in her early years of training.

The
Five Day Trail Riding Holiday will take you along miles of beautiful coastline of secluded sandy beaches and covews. You will climb high into the mountains meander through moors and bog and traverse isolated sand dunes with views of the sea and headlands. Each day you will take a differrent trail where you will discover contrasting landscapes. For example – The Famine Trail..Leaving the coast for a day with a packed lunch you will head towards the impressive Muckish Mountain, traversing old tracks built one hundred and fifty years ago during the famine that will take you into erie silence, only horses can use the tracks as they were originally for horses the only mode of transport at that time….(Link to full details of the 5 day trail)
