The Irish Open 2018 - Glashedy Course Ballyliffin Golf Club
For many years, golfers in Donegal have been aware that this corner of Ireland holds some of the countries ‘hidden gems’. Local courses such as Rosapenna, Ballyliffin and Portsalon have always featured heavily in the top 100 courses lists that are compiled every year. As well as the undoubted quality of golf courses in Donegal, green fees in this part of the world have remained a fraction of those in other parts of the country.
By late 2018, our secret will be out to the rest of the world! John Farren and his team at Ballyliffin have secured the Irish Open and this is certain to be a huge milestone for golf in Donegal.
The Irish Open at Ballyliffin is set to be one the biggest events in world golf in 2018. With household names such as Rory McIlroy and defending champion John Rahm certain to compete, a stellar field is guaranteed. Rumours are rife that this years event will also welcome a strong American contingent and there are even whispers that the Tiger himself may make the trip if fit.
