Quilting Holidays

We invite you to join Pauline Openneer, Quilting Designer and Instructor on a relaxing quilting retreat at Arnolds Hotel, Dunfanaghy, County Donegal. Overlooking the spectacular scenery of Sheephaven Bay, Horn Head and the beautiful Killahoey Beach just a stroll away the scene is set for relaxation and enjoyment.. The quilting workshops are designed to suit all levels, including beginners. The quilting room is available with all the facilities requiried including Rotary Sets, Sewing Machines, Irons and Ironing Boards. Pauline will assist you with the  design, preparation and sewing of quilts, including a quilt highlighting the Donegal landscape and the Forty Shades of Green, reflecting the spectacular views of Horn Head  from Arnolds Hotel. Using the same pattern you can choose purple and blue fabrics, depicting the purple heathers and the red fuchsia hedgerow that is unique to the Donegal landscape and Horn Head. You can choose to come on a week long quilting retreat or you can enjoy a qiilting weekend break if you so desire - the choice is yours. Experienced quilters are welcome to use the facilities of the Quilters Room whilst staying at the hotel and you can avail of our very Special Midweek and Weekend Offer which includes 2 Nights/ Bed/Breakfaast/1Dinner or you can choose to stay on Bed/Breakfast bases. We have a variety of dining options available including The Garden Bistro overlooking the mature hotel gardens and the Whiskey Fly Bar famous for live traditional Irish Music sessions.  You may also dine in the Seascapes Restaurant overlooking Horn Head.

The Weekend Workshops are available for  large or small groups and can be booked for a date that will suit your requirements.

The Weekend Package includes 2 Nights Bed and Full Irish Breakfast and One Four Course Table D'hote Dinner and Tuition Fees.  Weekend Package Price €175.00 is per person sharing.

The Midweek Package includes: 2 Nights Bed and Full Irish Breakfast and a One Four Course Table D'hote Dinner served in the relaxed ambience of the Seascapes Restaurant overlooking Sheephaven Bay and tuition fees. Price €155.00 per person sharing.

You may  bring your own fabric, or you may  order the pack with Pauline. The pack contains Fabric rolls, Border and Binding. If you prefer you may choose purple and blue fabric to create a quilt reflecting the Purple Heathers and Red Fuchsia hedgerow that is unique to the Horn Head landscape

Please bring your own sewing machine and basic sewing kit. Sewing machines are available if required.
